Week 10 Recap

Week 10 is in the books and hopefully your fantasy football team was victorious like mine, and hopefully my Start 'Em/Sit 'Em and Rankings helped as well.  Here is a recap of how my picks faired this weekend.

QB

Start Jake Locker - Unfortunately for Jake Locker and the Titans, the third year Quarterback was injured in the first quarter against the Jaguars and did not return to the game. After further reports on Monday, it turns out Locker is going to miss the rest of the season. The injury definitely put a damper on this prediction but it doesn't look like it would have been a good one even if Locker finished the game. His shortened day actually yielded negative fantasy points for his owners. I'm definitely taking a loss on this one.

Predicted Stats - 19/27, 245 yards, 2 TD, 36 yards rushing, 1 TD - 27.4 points

Actual Stats - 4/9, 24 yards, 1 Int, 18 yards rushing, 1 fumble lost - negative 1.24 points

Sit Colin Kaepernick - Kaepernick had the unfortunate task of playing the Carolina Panthers defense that has feasted on opposing Quarterbacks and the 49ers signal caller suffered the same fate as many others. A measly 91 yards on 11 completions is all he could show for his day as he was harassed all game. Kaep didn't even manage four fantasy points, which was even less than I predicted, and means this pick was a win.

Predicted Stats - 21/38, 199 yards, 1 TD, 1 Int, 26 yards rushing - 12.56 points

Actual Stats - 11/22, 91 yards, 1 Int, 16 yards rushing - 3.24 points

RB

Start Alfred Morris -  The Butler had a very solid game against the terrible Minnesota defense rushing for 139 yards, just six more yards than I predicted. Unfortunately he did not have any touchdowns so his point total did not match up to the prediction but it was still a good day and good production in standard leagues, just not the inflated point totals that come from touchdowns. I'll call a wash for this pick.

Predicted Stats - 133 yards, 2 TD, 1 rec, 6 yards - 25.9 points

Actual Stats - 139 yards - 13.9 points

Sit Arian Foster & Ben Tate - As most people though going into this game Arian Foster did not play, and it turns out he's been placed on Injured Reserve and is out for the year. Ben Tate did play but was already banged up and did not play the whole game. The stingy Cardinals defense held Tate to a very modest day and had the exact point total that I predicted which means a win for this pick.

Predicted Stats - 64 yards, 0 TD - 6.4 points

Actual Stats - 56 yards, 3 rec, 8 yards - 6.4 points

WR

Start Antonio Brown -  Depending on what type of league you are in, Antonio Brown either had a good day or he had a very good day. It was another typical day at the office for Brown and if you have him in a PPR league you are very pleased (as you usually are). Even if you have him in a standard league you can't complain as he was able to get over 100 yards receiving. The lack of a touchdown means he scored less points than I predicted but still put up the yardage. I'll score this a wash as it is similar to the Morris pick.

Predicted Stats - 11 rec, 123 yards, 1 TD - 18.3 points

Actual Stats - 6 rec, 104 yards, 10.4 points

Sit Cecil Shorts - Even though the Jaguars put up 29 points and finally got their first win of the season, Shorts did not see good production just as I had predicted. The Jags jumped out to a lead and did not have to throw the ball like they usually do so Shorts did not have as many opportunities to put up points. Only two receptions on the day and another win for this pick.

Predicted Stats - 5 rec, 69 yards - 6.9 points

Actual Stats - 2 rec, 42 yards - 4.2 points

TE

Start Tim Wright - Did Tim Wright even play this week? He was targeted just one time the entire game since the Buccs were having good success in the run game against the Dolphins. I definitely expected much more from Wright this week and absolutely chalk this one up as a loss.

Predicted Stats - 8 rec, 75 yards, 2 TD - 19.5 points

Actual Stats - 1 rec, 19 yards - 1.9 points

Sit Jason Witten - I was very hesitant to tell you to sit a great player like Jason Witten, especially after his Week 9 performance. But just like I thought, the Cowboys were dedicated to the run in the first half and Witten did not see a lot of targets. The game was completely dominated by the Saints and despite no turnovers, Tony Romo had a terrible game. My riskiest prediction turned out to be a very easy win to cap off the picks for the week.

Predicted Stats - 5 rec, 34 yards, 1 TD - 9.4 points

Actual Stats - 2 rec, 27 yards - 2.7 points

Overall, Week 10 was pretty good for my picks. I had four wins, two picks that were definite losses (Thanks Tim Wright), and two picks that were successful yet lacked the touchdowns to call them wins. I'm extremely pleased with my Jason Witten prediction and hopefully for this week I can give some more good advice. I will have the Week 11 Rankings and Start 'Em/Sit 'Em up before the Thursday night game. Thanks for reading and good luck in your matchups for Week 11.
